What a week to be a Trojan! We had so much fun celebrating Spirit Week and Homecoming, and we loved seeing our students, staff and families show off their Trojan pride all week long. Now, October is almost here, and there’s plenty more to look forward to across HSSD! Fall Break is right around the corner, along with our upcoming production of The Outsiders and one of our favorite fall traditions, Pumpkin Light Night. It’s a great time to be part of the Trojan family, and we can’t wait for all that October has in store!

Mark your calendars! Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held Thursday, October 8, from 2:00–8:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to connect with your child’s teachers, celebrate progress, and make plans for a successful rest of the semester.
Students at all HSSD schools will be dismissed early at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 8. There will be no school for students Friday, October 9 through Friday, October 16, for Fall Break.

Mark your calendars as Trojan Theatre proudly presents The Outsiders, October 22–24, with performances beginning at 6 p.m. each evening.
Based on S.E. Hinton’s beloved coming-of-age novel, The Outsiders tells the story of Ponyboy Curtis and the struggles between two rival groups—the Greasers and the Socs—as they navigate friendship, family, loyalty, loss and the challenges of growing up.
Now, our Trojan Theatre students are bringing this classic story to the stage! We hope our families and community will join us to support our talented student performers and crew.

Pumpkin Light Night is back, and it’s going to be frightfully fun for the whole family! Join us on Tuesday, October 27, from 4–6 p.m. at Joe Reese Stadium for an evening filled with entertainment, games, decorated pumpkins, food, and plenty of fall fun. You’ll also have a chance to connect with HSSD schools and programs and learn more about everything happening across our district.
Best of all, admission is FREE, except for purchases from the food trucks. And if the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ve got you covered with a rain date of Wednesday, October 28, from 4–6 p.m.
Grab the family, bring your Halloween spirit, and come celebrate fall at Pumpkin Light Night!

Looking for a fun way to spend the Friday of Fall Break? Grab three friends, dust off the clubs and hit the course for the Hot Springs Trojans 4-Man Scramble Golf Tournament on Friday, October 16, at Balboa Golf Course in Hot Springs Village!
Teams of four can enter for $500, and the tournament tees off with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Whether you’re playing to win, playing for bragging rights or just looking for a great day on the course, this is a perfect way to enjoy Fall Break while supporting Trojan Athletics.

Do you have some fall cleaning to do? Do you have a pile of unwanted treasures sitting in your garage or basement? Donate them to our HSDT Yard Sale and Vendor Fair! You can bring items anytime between 8-4:30 Monday-Thursday between now and then. If you have bigger items, just let me know and we can arrange a time.
We are also looking for vendors for Saturday, Oct. 10th. All vendors keep their proceeds and only pay a table/space fee and donate one item for our Nutty Nutcracker Silent Auction.
