Special education and related services are available to eligible students in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Hot Springs School District ensures that a free appropriate public education is provided to students with disabilities ages 3-21 in the least restrictive setting. The special services educators are committed to building relationships and providing high-quality services and supports to students in collaborative partnership with parents, families, and education staff.

Destruction of Records/Records Request
Special Education records are maintained for six years after students graduate, are dismissed from services, or withdraw from the HSSD. A notice is then posted in the Sentinel Record Newspaper and HSSD social media platforms, and these records are destroyed confidentially. Records are available to the student or parent (if the student is under 18 years old) by request. For requests, please contact:
