Dear Trojan Families,

Last week was a big one! 🎉 We celebrated 100 days of school and cheered on our incredible students at the Beta Convention, where their hard work truly shined with an impressive haul of awards 🏆👏. We couldn’t be prouder! Unfortunately, the first part of the week will be impacted by the winter weather. 🌧️❄️ We will stay in touch with our families as the week goes on. This is a good time for families to read together and review what the students have learned so far, especially on the elementary level. We will make up the snow days on February 19 and 20. 📚💛🖤

Winter Weather Plan ❄️🏫

The Hot Springs School District closely monitors weather conditions throughout the winter months. The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority, and when winter weather could affect road conditions, we remain in constant contact with city and state officials.

How Decisions Are Made

District officials review road conditions across the area and monitor updated weather forecasts before making any decisions. We also work closely with the other area school districts, law enforcement, and city officials.

How We Will Notify Families of a School Closure or Delay 📢

As soon as a decision is made, Hot Springs School District will communicate immediately using the following methods:

District-wide email notification and text message to all families and staff
District social media updates (Facebook & Instagram)
District website
Automated phone call
Local TV Stations

Dancin' Deals Yard Sale Needs Your Items

It's time for the HSDT Dancin' Deals Yard Sale, and we need your yard sale donations! With holiday decorations coming down, we know everyone may be doing some spring cleaning! Donate clothing, furniture, decor, kitchen items, toys, etc. All proceeds will benefit the Hot Springs Dance Troupe! Contact Amy Bramlett-Turner at bramletta@hssd.net for more information.

Dancin' Deals Yard Sale is February 20 and 21

Trojans Love Reading Set for Feb. 6

Calling all readers! We invite all parents, grandparents, and family friends to join us for another Trojans Love Reading event on Friday, February 6, at 1:30 pm.

Just pick any of our four elementary schools and show up with your reading skills. We'll provide the books. Our students really love having guest readers visit them during these events.

Read With Troy Returns in February

We had so much fun during our first two Read With Troy events and can't wait to host three more events in February! During these select games, elementary students are invited to the hospitality room of the Trojan Arena for a short read-aloud and treat. Just follow the Read With Troy signs at the start of halftime.
