The Hot Springs School District has approval from the State of Arkansas to use Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) on days when we have inclement weather or exceptional circumstances - like the current ongoing COVID-19 situation - to carry on with the education of our students.
Please find guidance below for implementing AMI methods of instruction by grade level for the extended period. Beneath the summary, families with students in K-2 can also find accompaniment worksheets.
Note for All Students and Families: Teachers will be available to students (or parents) through their Google Classroom and/or email every school day from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. In addition to engaging with teachers online, parents can call HSSD school offices with any questions.

With the period for AMI Days extended, the HSSD is working to ensure that a high quality education continues for all students. Starting Monday, April 6, all students in K-12 need access to a technology device with Internet. All students in K-12 will be expected to have daily online interaction with teachers. Please reach out to your teachers via email as soon as possible if we need to help provide you with technology devices (at no cost). Please see details at this link for how the HSSD can provide your students with Wifi access during the AMI period (at no cost). Find details below for AMI information by grade.
K - 12th Grade Students
Please access your Google Classroom(s) for clear directions and expectations from each of your teachers. Follow all instructions provided and submit completed work through your Google Classroom(s). K-2 has created packets that can be picked up at any campus and are located below to view online. Your teachers will work on these with you in Google Classroom as well. If you need assistance, please let your classroom teacher and building principal know.
Any students enrolled in digital courses, please continue coursework as normal. High school students are being contacted individually by school Counselors to ensure that all requirements are being met for coursework and credit. Seniors are being contacted to ensure all graduation requirements are met.
