Garland County School Districts (K-6) will come together again for the 3rd annual Garland County Reads event - united to promote the love of reading. Attendees will enjoy free hot dogs and cookies, literacy activities and booths hosted by school districts and community partners, and the reading by community leaders of the first letters in the book: Unusual Chickens for the Exceptional Poultry Farmer. Join us October 30 at the Hot Springs Farmers Market, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Find Garland County Reads event information translated to Spanish, here.


Notes for Parents:

   -The Garland County Reads event is a free, casual event from 5-7. All family members are invited. Hot dogs and cookies will be served.

   -Students will have received their books - Unusual Chickens for the Exceptional Poultry Farmer by Kelly Jones - in schools the week of October 30.After the kick-off event on October 30, parents and students will read the book together through December.

   -This is a fun activity meant to partner all schools, students, parents, and community partners in promoting a love for reading.

   -This is the 3rd annual event. Thank you to all of our wonderful community partners, parents and students that continue to build a love and commitment to reading in the Garland County area!

   -This event is a fun way to show our students that the entire Garland County community supports their hard work.

   -The night is free to all attendees, regardless of whether your children attend a school in the district.

   -We hope you’ll join us to celebrate the many benefits of reading, and our hard working students.
