HSSD Enrichment Grants

The mission of the Hot Springs Public School Education Foundation is to strengthen and support public school students and initiatives in the heart of Hot Springs. In the 2019-2020 school year, we hope to aggressively begin carrying out that mission and we need your help! The most important thing that we can do to give our young people more opportunities for growth and success at the HSSD is to equip you - our educators and school leaders - with all that you need.  We are opening the application process for the first-ever HSSD Enrichment Grants, and invite you all to submit proposals. HSSD Enrichment Grants are intended to enhance the quality and/or opportunity of our teachers and staff members to provide impactful, memorable curriculum and experiences to HSSD students, and to enrich the offerings of the HSSD.

HSSD staff members may apply to receive Classroom Enrichment Grant funds in any amount up to $1,500, via a simple grant form available, here. All staff members - including educators, administrators, and others - charged with working with students, overseeing student programs or clubs, or overseeing student or staff events or offerings are eligible for funds. Grants will be awarded based on a description of how the proposed project or effort meets student needs and “enriches” the HSSD, serves the Hot Springs community, as well as the immediacy of the need for respective classrooms and student groups, the number of students to be involved, and other factors included in the short application form. The grant application period will be open from Wednesday,  May 29 - Wednesday, August 28. Grant recipients will be announced September at the HSSD Public Schools Education Foundation Pre-Game Event, ahead of our first HSSD Trojans home football game.

Requirements to receive HSSD Enrichment Grants are simply to provide follow up, via photos and description, to the Hot Springs Public Schools Education Foundation Board via HSSD Communications Coordinator Adriane Barnes. Stories will be created to be published on the HSSD website and through other media partners to celebrate HSSD students and teachers, and to engage more partners and alumni with the foundation.

All grant applications will be subject to review of the educator’s reputation and activities, and his/her agreement to comply with applicable terms and conditions. Submission of an application does not guarantee funding. Recipients of grants will receive checks from the Hot Springs Public School Education Foundation by the end of September, 2019, and will be held responsible for spending funds by the end of the 2019-2020 school year under the terms agreed to. HSSD Enrichment Grants are only available to employees of the HSSD.
