Where would we be without our outstanding IT Team? During a normal school year, our IT professionals are busy. During a COVID-19 school year, they are all juggling multiple levels of busy, and needed in four places at once - and yet they continue to stay on top of our IT needs with flexibility, kindness, and dedication!   We have the most knowledgeable, professional, ingenuitive, and driven individuals in our IT Department. THANK YOU to our IT Team for all that you do to keep this district up and running, and for all that you are doing this year to address unprecedented IT needs. National IT Professionals Day was Tuesday, September 15 and today, I dedicate our Trojan Good things to our IT Department. Please make sure to send a “thank you” and always share appreciation with our IT team members in each of your buildings. They are the very best at what they do, and they are deeply valued and essential to our work as an educational institution.

I also have two anonymous Good Things to share today …:

"I have been very impressed with the dedication to our students from the cafeteria workers at Oaklawn STEM .  They are very patient and caring as the kids go through the line.  They have come out into the cafeteria to ask students how they like certain things and preferences for how they would like some things served. I LOVE that they are passionate and have a strong work ethic!  It is easy to see in the food they serve, the way they interact with students and staff, and the special things they offer on certain days in the ‘Spice it Up’ area for staff.  "

“Mrs. Wilda Hughley has had for years a true desire to touch the heart and life of youth in our community. She is of Haitian heritage, but loves ministering in the lives of the youth of Hot Springs and our State. In recognition of this, the Pure International Pageants organization selected her to be the 2020 Ms. Haiti International (in honor of her Hatian heritage), and she was invited to Columbus, Ohio - alongside over 250 other national and international contestants from around the world - to present her vision and service platform, with an opportunity to be crowned as THE International Queen. After 4 full days of pageantry, interviews and stage presentations, our own Mrs. Wilda Hughley was selected by the judges to be Ms. 2020 INTERNATIONAL!  WOW!!”

Trojan ‘Good Things’ is a weekly shout out from #HSSD Superintendent Dr. Stephanie Nehus to individuals in our school community who are doing amazing things! It is her goal to communicate all the positives happening in #HSSD. If you have any special events happening in your classes or buildings or if you know of someone we need to give a shout out to, please complete the Trojan Good Things Form, here.
