Trojan Good Things is a weekly shout out from #HSSD Superintendent Dr. Stephanie Nehus to individuals in our school community who are doing amazing things!

This week, I would like to share two wonderful shoutouts, one to Mr. White at Langston, and the other to Mrs. Olive at Park Magnet. I also want to send deep appreciation to our food service staff members as we wrap up National School Lunch Week. Our Chartwells teams do such a great job of taking care of the preparation, serving, and clean up of our meals every single day. It’s a huge task, and they go above and beyond to make meals served in all cafeterias tasty, as healthy as possible, and served from friendly faces. Thank you to all Chartwells staff members, and all HSSD staff members who work with them to feed our kids.

See this shoutout for Mr. White at Langston:

“On behalf of Langston 6th Grade, I want to give Barry White a shoutout. He provided complete coverage of Social Studies Unit guides, lessons, resources, assessment pieces, and helpful links to the 6th grade teachers across the district. All of these curriculum components follow the state standards, district guidelines, and adhere to state directives for the content of Social Studies. Leaders like Mr. White are a huge asset to the Hot Springs School District. Thank you for doing great things!

See this shoutout for Mrs. Olive at Park:
“‘#TrojanPride,’ ‘#HeartHSSD,’ and ‘#trojanrevival’ have all taken on flesh this year. It's one thing to come to work each day and love what you do just because of a passion for teaching, however, Mrs. Keyosha Olive brings her passion as a graduate of Hot Springs School District with her to work each day. She once walked the halls as a student and now fills a position at Park and also as a parent of an HSSD student (an extremely respectful, responsible and safe student I might add). Keyosha is quick to say ‘yes’ to whatever it takes to make a difference for this district. She has been a vital part of the Pumpkin Light Night planning and is a consistent parent who ensures her cheerleader is a role-model to all. I am so glad our paths have crossed because she has made me see what a product of HSSD looks like in the future. Thank you Mrs. Olive for living the Trojan Pride as an alumni, a staff member and a parent. You are a true Trojan through and through.”

The goal of Trojan Good Things is to communicate all the positives happening in #HSSD. If you have any special events happening in your classes or buildings or if you know of someone we need to give a shout out to, please complete the form at
