Collaboration with staff members, parents and families, and students is a top priority at the HSSD. One strategy for building a collaborative culture is through our HSSD Superintendent’s Councils. HSSD Superintendent Dr. Nehus organizes four unique Councils that meet throughout the school year to share and discuss district initiatives. Superintendent’s Council meetings are structured to allow for two-way communication, and open forums for information and sharing of feedback. Council meetings usually last one hour, and include a discussion of school district updates and decisions, success stories and challenges, special presentations from student groups or leadership teams, and how local and state educational changes could affect the district.

The four HSSD Superintendent’s Councils are as follows: Classified Staff Council, Certified Staff Council, Parent Council, and new this year - a Student Council. Each of these important audiences bring distinct perspectives and concerns that together make the school district a stronger and better place. Dates have been set for all council meetings, and are listed below. Membership on each council is comprised of individuals from all HSSD schools. We welcome any new members interested in participating. We will begin closing the option for new members to join as representatives from each school are filled.
