In honor of Global Youth Service Day earlier in April, students across the HSSD completed service projects in schools and the community. Our OVPA Jr. Beta Club dedicated their efforts to creating memorable, educational videos about the importance of recycling. Enjoy a five-part video series below, highlighting the importance of recycling items that students frequently collect at school, including plastic bottles, plastic shopping bags, paper, cardboard, and aluminum cans.

Earlier in the school year, OVPA received a Recycling Grant from the Southwest Central Regional Solid Waste Management District. Since that time, students have been completely responsible for picking up items from the recycling stations placed throughout the building and taking them to the curb every Monday. They have enjoyed being part of the recycling process, and (as you’ll see) are passionate about sharing their lessons learned.
