The HSSD coordinated more than 2,100 K-6th grade students through the Hot Springs Airport today for Career Day, an event dedicated to highlighting the careers and services available in the Hot Springs community. Public safety and service agencies provided unique stations for students to visit with representatives and tour equipment and gear. Thank you to the following wonderful community partners for your time today, and for the outstanding job that you and your agencies do to protect and serve the Hot Springs area: Arkansas Forestry Commission, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Garland County Sheriff's Office,  Hot Springs Intracity Transit, Hot Springs Airport, Hot Springs Fire Department, Hot Springs Parks and Recreation Department, Hot Springs Police Department, Hot Springs Solid Waste Department/Recycling Truck, KLAZ Radio Station, and LifeNet Emergency Medical Services.

Students from all four HSSD elementary schools (Gardner STEM, Langston Magnet, Oaklawn Visual and Performing Arts, and Park Magnet) and our Intermediate School were part of the day. Students toured each station for a seven minute presentation and question/answer session.

We appreciate all volunteers, staff members, and community partners - including our gracious hosts at the Hot Springs Airport - who made the day possible! Find a event full photo album, here.
