As approved by the HSSD School Board on 2/17/2022:

Starting Friday, 2/18/2022, the wearing of face masks will be optional, but strongly recommended for HSSD students and staff members.

If the HSSD identifies and/or is notified that 3% or more of the combined student/staff population tests positive for Covid-19 after reviewing one week of data, the HSSD will implement a temporary Mask Mandate for the district. After one week of review, if the data reveals less than 3% of the combined student/staff population is positive, the temporary Mask Mandate will be lifted. Daily positive cases are posted, here.

We continue to remind families to keep sick students home. We will continue to strongly encourage the wearing of face masks for individuals who are considered high risk to Covid-19 due to pre-existing conditions, general health concerns, and otherwise. We will continue to strongly encourage the wearing of face masks for individuals who are unvaccinated. Rapid Covid-19 tests are still available to HSSD students and staff members from our School Nurses and our District Point of Contact for Covid-19 at the District Office. The HSSD will continue to follow all Covid-19 protocols regarding quarantining individuals who test positive for Covid-19 and communication with families when their child's class or student group/program has been exposed to Covid-19. The full Covid-19 Community Guidance document will be updated and distributed to families for reference on 2/18.
