We were so proud to have a student group from Hanamaki, Japan (through the City of Hot Springs Sister City Program) at the Hot Springs Junior Academy. The group of students, principals, and school administrators spent over three hours at the HSJA yesterday touring classrooms, watching student performances, and visiting with our students and staff members.

Guests were treated to an arrival ceremony by the Jr. High Cheerleaders. They were then formally welcomed by Principal Lenox and Assistant Principal Hines. They were then escorted to the JAG room, where they made HSSD buttons; then to the Library, where they made guest badges.

In groups of four, they toured classrooms for performances and/or student presentations in Art, Choir, Language Arts, Dance, and Math classes. EAST students ended the tour with a presentation of pieces in their upcoming Digital Arts Show. They enjoyed lunch with all of our students in the cafeteria.

Students with the group were also invited to our Pumpkin Light Night event last night, to experience a showcase of districtwide talent and activity.

Thank you to all HSJA staff members and leadership for organizing the special visit. What an honor it is to share our school and our students with Sister City visitors!
