This week #HSSD 5th grade Park Magnet students, and Junior Academy Jr. Beta Club and Jobs For America’s Graduates (JAG) students, visited the “RISE ABOVE” exhibit - which is a special presentation on the Red Tail Squadron of the Tuskegee Airmen via traveling exhibit. The exhibit highlights obstacles that this unique group overcame to fly and fight for the U.S. during World War II. The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African American military aviators in the U.S. armed forces.

“The main takeaway was encouragement and inspiration to our students to reach beyond their grasp and always strive for new levels of achievement, just as the Tuskegee Airmen did,” says Hot Springs Gifted and Talented Coordinator Ms. Laura West.

The Ouachita Speaker Series of Hot Springs Village is hosting the RISE ABOVE exhibit through September 30. The series brings guest speakers and exhibits to the area several times each year.
