As families prepare for the beginning of school on August 15, many are making lists of needs. The Hot Springs School District will proudly carry on the tradition of providing all school supplies for all students at no cost in the 2019-2020 school year. Families with students attending any HSSD school (across all grades) should only purchase supplies if students have preferences for specific items.

Administrators at all HSSD schools work with teachers to purchase school supplies specific to the needs of each teacher and classroom. In many cases, school supplies purchased by the school will remain in classrooms and will not be sent home with students, unless the supplies are required for homework or after hours purposes. Backpacks are provided to students by request. All other supplies will be readily available in classrooms on August 15.

We encourage all parents to attend open house events on August 13 to discuss further details about supplies and activities by classroom. Elementary schools, including our HSSD Gardner STEM Magnet School, Langston Elementary Leadership Academy, Oaklawn Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School, and Park Magnet, an IB World School, will host Open House on August 13 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Our Hot Springs Junior Academy and Hot Springs World Class High School will host Open House on August 13 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Find more details about registration and open house events, here.
