Kindergarten
Learn to orient themselves with others as well as self, explore self-expression through creative dramatics, and learn a basic theatre vocabulary. Introduced to rhythm, movement and vocal techniques, and will learn about other cultures through folklore stories and multi-culture performances.

First Grade
Explore self-expression through creative dramatics. Begin to work in small groups creating skits based upon familiar stories. Learn problem solving skills, use music and movement to enhance improvisations, and begin to recite poems and other written material. Basic theatre vocabulary will be added to and used to discuss performances. Further exposure to other cultures.

Second Grade
Further explore self-expression through creative dramatics, and learn to work in groups, improvise scenes, and to tell stories that have a beginning, middle, and end. Recognize character, plot, setting, and theme. Start learning how to criticize performances. Learn to imitate and talk about the world and the people around them. Multi-culture themes will be further explored.

Third Grade
Explore self-expression through creative dramatics. Learn to imitate and talk about, in detail, the world and the people around them. Work in groups to improvise scenes, learn to recognize character, plot, setting, and theme, and start learning how to criticize performances. Be able to read, develop, and perform a production from a script, and improve their ability to move about the stage.

Fourth Grade
Encourage to observe the people and events around them and will learn to use what they have observed as performers. Small groups will be used to improvise scenes, using different styles and themes. Learn the roles of actor, director, scriptwriter, and technical artist, and have the opportunity to play those rules in classroom and other performances. Discuss reasons for creating and attending theater, film, television, and other performing arts.
