Technology is interwoven throughout the curriculum to prepare our students for today's world. The students are enrolled in educational programs to enhance literacy as well as programs and instructions based on the frameworks set by the state and district. Beginning in kindergarten students are taught the basic keyboard functions. Implementation of writing and visual arts enhances their learning. Students continue to focus on technology in the school's computer and classroom labs. technology is expanded in the Fine Arts Department through Broadcasting and the Communications Department. Students publish and create original works using the latest equipment.

Profiles for Technology Literate Students

Kindergarten - Second Grade

Third Grade - Fifth Grade
1. Use input devices (e.g., mouse, keyboard, remote control) and output devices (e.g., monitor, printer) to successfully operate computers, VCR's audiotapes, telephones, and other technologies. 1. Use keyboards and other common input and output devices (including adaptive devices when necessary) efficiently and effectively.
2. Use a variety of media and technology resources for directed and independent learning activities. 2. Discuss common uses of technology in daily life and the advantages those uses provide.
3. Communicate about technology using developmentally appropriate an accurate terminology. 3. Discuss basic issues related to responsible use of technology and information and describe personal consequences of inappropriate use.
4. Use developmentally appropriate multimedia resources (e.g., interactive books, educational software, elementary multimedia encyclopedias) to support learning. 4. Use general-purpose productivity tools and peripherals to support personal productivity, remediate skill deficits, and facilitate learning throughout the curriculum.
