Second - Fifth Grade Lesson Plans

Electronic Portfolios / Learning.com Continued

·       Gardner Network Folders

·       Microsoft PowerPoint

·       Internet Explorer

 Activities:
1)    Students will begin by checking their work area.
2)  Students will open their Electronic Portfolio Template and complete anything needed in slides 1, 4, 5, 6, and their reading slide.
3)  Each student will place their picture on their reading slide with their favorite book.
4)  We will review Learning.com from EasyTech and each student’s use of their personal username and password.
5)  Students will work through the individualized lessons during the remaining class time.
11) Students will exit all programs and windows on their computer and prepare their “office station” for the next “employee.”

Steps:

Electronic Portfolio Template:

Students will open, edit, and save a copy of their grade level’s electronic portfolio.

 Students will:

1.     Click on "Start"

2.     Go to "My Computer"

3.     Select "Data on 'gardner' (F:)"

4.     Select "00-gardner classes:

5.     Select "00 - Student Projects"

6.     Choose “their grade level”

7.     Select “their teacher’s folder”

8.     Select “their folder”

9.     Choose “My Portfolio”

10.  Select “My ‘grade level’ Portfolio 2007-2008”

11.  Once it is highlighted, press “Enter” to open the template

12.  Edit slides 1, 4, 5, 6, and reading slide with photo of themselves if needed from last week’s lesson.

13.  Click on the “Red X” to exit the program

14.  Click on “Yes” that you want to save the changes

15.  This will save the Electronic Portfolio Template in their personal folder.

16.  Students will then exit all opened windows on their screen by clicking on the “Red X” in the top right hand corner of each opened window.

 

Learning.com from EasyTeach:

Students will:

1.     Students will begin by opening the Internet and typing “learning.com” in the address bar.

2.     Students will enter their “UserName”

3.     Students will enter their “password”

4.     Students will need to type in the school – “Hot Springs School District”

5.     Click “Log on”

6.     This will bring up a screen with the lessons selected for the individual student.

7.     Students will click on the first lesson and follow the on-line, interactive lesson’s directions.

8.     Students must score an 80% in order to progress to the next lesson; otherwise, they will be prompted to repeat the lesson.

9.     We will work on lessons as long as time allows today during class.

10.  Students will then exit all opened windows on their screen by clicking on the “Red X” in the top right hand corner of each opened window.

Core Objectives

►Student uses technology in a real-world scenario.

 

Students will stand up and prepare their work station for the next “employee”

a.     Straighten their Keyboard

b.     Straighten their mouse pad and mouse

c.     Make sure microphones and headphones are in their proper place

d.     Push chairs in completely under the table

We will announce the winner for the day (student with the computer sign matching that displayed on the SmartBorad for the day).

Students exit the lab quietly as the next class enters.
