Second - Fifth Grade Lesson Plans
Introduction to the Technology Lab Rules, Consequences, Rewards, & Procedures
Materials: · Introduction PowerPoint · Gardner Network Folders · Digital Camera
Activities: 1) Classes this week will be introduced to the lab and equipment. We will cover procedures, rules, and consequences for class. 2) Students will practice the rules. 3) Students will each have their picture taken for use on web pages and future projects. 4) Students will then work on moving their network folder from a grade level group to their homeroom teacher’s folder for this year. 5) Students will then work on moving their picture from the group photo folder to their individual “Photos” folder in their network folder for this year’s grade level. 6) The students will receive a "Welcome Card" from me.
Steps:
BEHAVIOR RULES FOR TECHNOLOGY LAB: 1. Enter the Lab and sit quietly with your feet on the floor, hands in your lab, and listen to the directions for the first activity. 2. Raise your hand when you have a question. 3. Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself and don’t touch your neighbor’s computer without permission. 4. NO swearing, cruel teasing, rude gestures, or cheating. 5 Be ready to have a GREAT time in the Technology Lab and learn a LOT of new things!
DISCIPLINE PLAN FOR TECHNOLOGY LAB: When a student breaks a rule: 1. 1st Offense ~ Caution – I will simply ask you to follow the directions and stop the misconduct. You will receive your first checkmark. (Each checkmark will count 10 points off your conduct grade for the class period.) 2. 2nd Offense ~ Warning – You will be warned one last time before losing privileges. (Second Checkmark) 3. 3rd Offense ~ You will be asked to sit in time out until you are ready to rejoin the class activity. (Third Checkmark) 4. 4th Offense ~ I will assign you a “pink ticket” and we will discuss your behavior with your classroom teacher. (Fourth Checkmark) 5. 5th Offense ~ I will discuss your conduct with Ms. Seiz and you will lose recess time. (Fifth Checkmark)
