Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade Lesson Plans:

Kindergarten – Second Grade Lesson Plans

Practice Viewing Portfolios ~ Do Editing as Needed

Materials:

·        Gardner Network Folders

·        Microsoft PowerPoint

Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade ~       

The students will locate and open their electronic portfolio located on the network.  Below are the steps they should follow in opening the template.

Click Start
Choose “My Computer”
Choose “Data on ‘gardner’ (F:)”
Choose “00 gardner classes”
Choose “00 Student Projects”
Select “their grade level”
Select "their teacher's folder"
Select "their name"
Select the folder "My Portfolio"
Select "My 'current grade level' Portfolio 2006-2007"
Open the Portfolio (PowerPoint Presentation)

Students will practice beginning and viewing their Electronic Portfolio.  They will use the “F5” key and various other options for starting the presentation.  They will practice using the hyperlink buttons to navigate through their portfolio.  They will also practice using the “Esc” key for exiting their presentation.

Students who still need to do some editing will continue working to personalize their portfolio.  They will also work on adding sections needed.

Students will check to make sure their Technology Links are working:
K Students will link to their Technology Small Group Project "Hey Diddle Diddle."  This is a PowerPoint Presentation they completed with paint drawings on individual slides to illustrate the riddle and then placed in a group PowerPoint with a recorded reading of their portion.

1st Grade Students will link to their Technology Small Group Project "Seasons of the Year."  This is a PowerPoint Presentation they completed with paint drawings on individual slides to illustrate their assigned season and then placed in a group PowerPoint.

2nd Grade Students will link to their Technology Individual Project "My Friends and I."  This is a PhotoStory project they completed with photos of their friends and themselves.

Once they have completed the editing for the session, they will need to save their work.
