Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade Lesson Plans: Kindergarten – Second Grade Lesson Plans Students in grades K-2 will be given an introductory lesson for the use of the Paint Program. This is the program selected for participation in the Technology Inclusion Projects for grade K-2 for the 3rd Nine Weeks. Other programs being used will include PowerPoint and PhotoStory as well as the possible use of digital cameras. *Kindergarten will be doing a “Poem Illustration Project” – Students will illustrate a line of a poem using Paint. The illustrations will be placed in PowerPoint slides containing the line of the poem. The PowerPoint will be transferred to PhotoStory and each student will use a microphone to narrate their line of the poem. *First Grade will be doing “I’m an Author Project” – Students will draw (inPaint) a picture of a topic that will be placed in PowerPoint. The students will type a sentence or sentences about the topic and their picture. *Second Grade will be doing “The Important Thing About…. Project” – Students will create two PowerPoint slides (found in a template) writing about something important to them. They will include a picture from Paint or a camera (using digital cameras to take the picture). Introduction Lesson for Paint Students will be shown the basics of Paint beginning with locating and opening the program to the use of its tool and color boxes. 3 Technology productivity tools · Students use technology tools to enhance learning, increase productivity, and promote creativity. Performance IndicatorsA major component of the NETS Project is the development of a general set of profiles describing technology-literate students at key developmental points in their pre-college education. These profiles reflect the underlying assumption that all students should have the opportunity to develop technology skills that support learning, personal productivity, decision making, and daily life. These profiles and associated standards provide a framework for preparing students to be lifelong learners who make informed decisions about the role of technology in their lives.
