Student Web Sites

Students will return to their work on creating their Personal Web Site this week.

 Overview of the lesson:          In this lesson, students will work with Microsoft FrontPage.  They will create the Homepage for their Personal Web Site.

Learning Objectives:  Students will be able to –

  • Locate and open Microsoft FrontPage
  • Create a Homepage for their personal web site
  • Save their page to their “Web Page” folder in their personal folders on the server

Materials Used: 

  • Microsoft FrontPage
  • Internet Explorer
  • School Network and Server
  • Google.com (if time allows for locating backgrounds and graphics)

Students will work through the following:

Welcome Goes Here

1.     From the top Tool Bar, click on "Insert"

2.     Next, click on "Picture"

3.     Then, click on "Word Art"

1.     From the top Tool Bar, click on "Insert"

2.     Next, click on "Picture"

3.     Then, click on "From File"

 

Insert a Table Here

1.     From the top Tool Bar, click on "Table"

2.     Choose "Insert"

3.     Next, click on "Table"

4.     You will need to have (2 - Rows) and (2 - Columns)

5.     Highlight the cells of the table and choose to set them to "Align Text Left, Center, or Right"

6.     Choose the font style and size
i.e. Bold, Arial, and 24

 

Name Your Hyperlinks in the Table

1.     Try to make your titles original and exciting
to make people WANT to read them.... MARKETING & ADVERTISING

2.     Try to make them take up TWO LINES - hold the "Shift Key" and press "Enter"
To have the title take up two lines with minimal space between the lines

4.   Use general purpose productivity tools and peripherals to support personal productivity,
      remediate skill deficits, and facilitate learning throughout the curriculum. (3)

5.   Use technology tools (e.g., multimedia authoring, presentation, Web tools, digital cameras,
      scanners) for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to
      create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom. (3, 4)

9.  Determine when technology is useful and select the appropriate tool(s) and technology resources
     to address a variety of tasks and problems. (5, 6)
