Computer Basics: Session 1

In this lesson, students will acquire computer basics that focus on key knowledge of computer hardware and mouse terminology.  To begin, students review the name and function of each computer part.  Students also review the mouse and how to click, click and hold, and click and drag.  They are then ready to open the program KidPix Deluxe 3 and explore and investigate the Pain Zone Tools.  The session ends with a discussion of how each computer part was used when working with the graphic art software.

Materials:

  • KidPix Deluxe 3

  • KidPix Deluxe 3 Flashcards

  • Computer Parts Teacher Resources

  • Do's and Don'ts Teacher Resource
