Kindergarten, First and Second Grade Lesson Plans:

Creating a Maze ~ KidPix Deluxe 3

Materials:

·        FutureKids Curriculm ~ Gray Level Lesson 1

·        KidPix Deluxe 3 Software

Lesson Summary:

Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade Classes

The students will begin by launching the KidPix program.  Next, the students will open the "maze" template from the Desktop "FutureKids" folder, Gray Level.

Once the template is open, students will use the "paint" tool to create a solid colored background.

Students will then use the "eraser" tool to create a path from "Start" to "Finish" on their maze.

A "truck" stamp will be placed at the beginning of the maze using the "Stamp" tool.  A "computer" graphic will be added to the finish portion of the maze.  Students will then add three graphics that are technology related to their correct path on the maze.

Students will then use the eraser tool again to create alternate paths for their maze that do NOT lead to the finish mark on the maze.

Using the stamp tool, students will add various graphics to their maze that are NOT technology related.

Students will save their finished maze to their "FutureKids" folder on the network for their current grade level.  These will be used for their portfolios.
