Electronic Portfolios

Materials:

·        Gardner Network Folders

·        Microsoft PowerPoint

·       Portfolio Template (K – new template in main folder, 1-2 Personalized Template Saved in individualized folders from the previous year)

3rd 4th and 5th Grade ~

The students will locate their grade level folder on the network to open their own Electronic Portfolio saved from the previous year.  All new students will use the template for their grade level’s Electronic Portfolio in the network folder for their grade level.

Click Start
Choose “My Computer”
Choose “Data on ‘gardner’ (F:)”
Choose “00 gardner classes”
Choose “00 Student Projects”
Select “their grade level”
Choose Their Teacher's name
Select Their Name
Choose "My Portfolio"
Open Their Portfolio (PowerPoint Presentation)

Students will edit the title information for the main portfolio as well as edit the title page for their current grade level.  The students will also begin working on adding their work samples to the Electronic Portfolio.  Once they have completed the editing, they will need to save their work:

Click on the “red X” in the top right corner of the screen
Click “Yes” to save the changes
Click on the “red X” to exit out of the network folder window to return to the original screen

Prior to completion of Grade 3-5, students will:

1.      Use keyboards and other common input and output devices (including adaptive devices when necessary) efficiently and effectively. (1)

3.      Use general purpose productivity tools and peripherals to support personal productivity, remediate skill deficits, and facilitate learning throughout the curriculum. (3)

4.      Use technology tools (e.g., multimedia authoring, presentation, Web tools, digital cameras, scanners) for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom. (3, 4)
