Week Four Rotation Schedule - September 06-10, 2004.

Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade Lesson Plans:

Monday - 
No School

Tuesday -

Wednesday -

Rearranging Files:

The students will begin by relocating their files and storing them in their new teacher's folder.

Option 1 for Moving the Folders:

  1. Click on the START button in the lower left corner of the screen

  2. Select "My Computer" from the list on the right hand side

  3. Select "data on 'gardner' (F:)

  4. Select "gardner classes"

  5. Select "00 - Student Projects"

  6. Select "Master List"

  7. Select their previous year's grade level

  8. Find their folder

  9. Click on their folder (it will turn blue)

  10. On the left side of the screen there is a menu - the first option is
    "File and Folder Tasks"

  11. Once the folder or folders to be moved have been selected
    and it is highlighted or (blue), click on
    "Move This Folder"

A new "move items" window will appear -

  1. Click one time on "data on gardner (F:)

  2. Click on "gardner classes"

  3. Click on "OO - Student Projects"

  4. Click on the grade level

  5. Click on the teacher

  6. Click the "MOVE" button

  7. Click on the "Red X" to exit out

 

Option 2 for Moving the Folders:

  1. Click on the START button in the lower left corner of the screen

  2. Select "My Computer" from the list on the right hand side

  3. Select "data on 'gardner' (F:)

  4. Select "gardner classes"

  5. Select "00 - Student Projects"

  6. Select "Master List"

  7. Select their previous year's grade level

  8. Find their folder, right click, and select "copy"

  9. Click on the green back arrow TWO times

  10. Select their new grade level

  11. Select their new teacher's folder

  12. Right click in the teacher's folder and select paste

  13. Click on the "Red X" at the top and close all windows

 

Web Page Design:

The students will begin working on designing their individual web page:

  1. Click on the icon for "Microsoft FrontPage"

  2. Press the "Enter" key

  3. Select "File" from the tool bar

  4. Select "Open"

  5. Click on the down arrow in the "Look in:" address bar

  6. Select "data on 'gardner' (F:)

  7. Select "gardner classes"

  8. Select "00 - Student Projects"

  9. Select their grade level folder

  10. Select their teacher's folder

  11. Select their teacher's "sample web page" folder

  12. Open their teacher's sample web page

  13. (If the tags appear - Click on view and click on "views bar")

  14. Begin with editing the color -
    ~ Click on "Format" from the tool bar
    ~ Select "Background"
    ~ Change the colors for background, text, and hyperlinks
    ~ Click "OK"

  15. Students will then begin to type in their text from the sheets they brought to class with them (some of the teachers sent them down earlier and they are next to the teaching computer).

  16. OPTIONAL - Students may select the type of font they wish to use on their page (select "format" from the toolbar and then select "font"  OR the students can use the tool options from the standard or formatting view options)

 Saving the Web Page Design:

The students will save their work in their individual folders:

  1. Click on "File" from the main tool bar

  2. Choose "Save As"

Option 1 For Saving:

  1. Click on the Folder with the back arrow from the tool bar

  2. Choose the Student's Folder

  3. Choose "Web Page"

  4. Choose grade level
    Rename before saving
    "Name's Web Page" (highlight and do "Control C" to copy)
           Click on "Change Title" (while highlighted, do "control V" to
                  paste the previous title"
           Click Ok

  5. Click Save

  6. Click on the "Red X" at the top of the screen to close the web page

 

Option 2 For Saving:

  1. Click on the down arrow that appears in the "save in:" address bar

  2. Check on the list for -
    ~ data on 'gardner' (F:)
    ~ gardner classes
    ~ 00 - Student Projects
    ~ (Their teacher's name)
    ~ Once they click on their teacher's name their work will be saved in that file

  3. Click in the "File name:" window or bar at the bottom of the "Save As" window

  4. Make sure all of the current name is highlighted in blue

  5. Type in -
    ~ First name's Web Page

  6. Click Save

  7. Click on the "Red X" at the top of the screen to close the web page
