Welcome to KidsHealth!
KidsHealth is the largest and most visited site on the Web providing
doctor-approved health information about children from before birth through
adolescence. Created by The Nemours Foundation's Center for Children's Health
Media, the
award-winning KidsHealth
provides families with accurate, up-to-date, and jargon-free health information
they can use. KidsHealth has been on the Web since 1995.
KidsHealth has separate
areas for kids, teens, and parents - each with its own design, age-appropriate
content, and tone. There are literally thousands of in-depth features, articles,
animations, games, and resources - all original and all developed by experts in
the health of children and teens.

Physical
Education at Gardner is centered around FUN and Learning. All students are
encouraged to participate, and do their best. To start the year we go through
basic skills and movements, and work our way into game play and competitive
sports. Safety, fun, and participation are the number one priorities of my
class. Students participate in activities that integrate Math, Science,
Technology, and Literacy. Within the last year we have started a Walk
Across America group. These students are chosen from fourth and fifth
grade and wear pedometers all day while at school. At the end of the day
students report to me with their steps. Students then keep track of how
far they have traveled by measuring the distance on a map of the United States.
Students pick the beginning and ending points on the map. Students will
use the computer to look up different cities they travel through to find out
about weather, sports, entertainment, history, and anything else they can about
the places. Every year in October one week is designated as Bus Safety
Week. Students are taught about Danger Zones around the bus. They
are taught how to act on the bus, and younger students are taught what to do
when crossing the street.
