The top 10 science students in each grade are selected to form a grade level team.  This National Science League team then takes a 30 minute science exam that is scored by the NSL Organization and compared to similar teams throughout the United States.

As we build our science program here at Gardner, we hope to monitor our scores nationally and continue to improve our team scores over time.  This process helps to mark our growth.

We believe that the NSL will be a valuable supplement to our students’ educational experience.  Through the NSL contest, students will further their involvement and curiosity in many fields of science while, at the same time, provide personal recognition for themselves both locally and nationally.

While only the top scorer on each team receives a medal, each team member will be awarded a certificate of recognition. It is an honor in itself to be selected as a NSL member.
