1st and 3rd Graders
have the front playground this week.
Estimation Station is set up for 2nd & 3rd Grades this week.

for $5.00. The CD will include all projects from their individual
network folder (web page, electronic portfolio, monthly photos, classroom pics,
school-wide activity photos, and the PowerPoints displayed in the main hallway

NWEA
Testing This Week.....
NWEA Testing is an on-line test covering Math, Reading, and Language Arts.
This test will be administered in the PLATO and Technology Labs this week.
The test will allow teachers and students to see where their skill level
is based on grade level target scores. The testing is on-line and is
multiple choice based. It is a great opportunity for the students to
showcase their knowledge and receive immediate feed back on scoring as
soon as the testing is completed.

- Early Dismissal
Day: May 5th.
- In order to provide
collaboration and planning time for teachers, students will be dismissed
2 hours earlier than the regular time. The Elementary Extended Daycare
Program will be provided until 5:30 P.M. for those students currently
enrolled.

6th - Big School Day
We will have lots of extra "potential kindergarteners" and
visitors from area daycares today. This is an opportunity for them
to view what Gardner has to offer and experience a day "in kindergarten"
for a taste of what they can expect next year when they begin school.

6th - Writing Wizard Papers Due
These are the student works selected to be the Writing Wizards
for May. You can view previous winners from the year and their
writing samples on our "Writing
Wizard Web Page." There are links for winners from
October,
December,
and March.
May's winners will be published SOON!

Progress reports will be sent home today in the students' "Take
Home" folders. This is the last report prior to the final report
card at the end of the year.

Technology Lab's Monthly Photos
Is isn't too late to order your child's photos from the year.
If you are interested, please contact Mr. Miller.
Mr. Miller is taking
our monthly photos. There will be 9 Photos during
the year, Sept. - May. If purchased individually the
costs is $18. If you purchase the entire year's package,
your cost is ONLY $15.00. You may purchase the entire
package any time during the year (photos are taken for ALL
students and saved).
The photos are 5" x 8" and are
sent home in a card once each month if purchased. The photos will be
taken during your child's Technology Lab Activity Time or
Science Lab Activity time for K-1 the
first week of each month.

Gardner Technology Lab's Individual Student Calendars

Keep in mind
that the monthly photos look GREAT on a
School Calendar. If you had your child's photos taken
last year, Mr. Miller can use those photos to create a personalized calendar for
the school year (August '07 -
July '08) OR you can order a 2008 Calendar (Jan.-Dec. '08). If you
didn't have them taken last year, plan ahead for next year's calendar
purchase! (Mr. Miller is now taking EACH students' photo every month
and saving them to the students' network folders.)
All
calendars can also include special dates, birthdays, etc. for your family.
Contact Mr. Miller for more information. Calendars are $15.00.
You may add special dates to your calendar for
only $1.00 per set of 10 to be placed on your calendar.

FIELD DAY!
You will be receiving more information about this even as it gets closer
to time for the event. This day will allow the students time to
enjoy various stations set up outside for their enjoyment,
entertainment, and physical activity! We will also have a
concession stand set up for the day. (A price list will be sent
home closer to the event as well.)
