Davonta Johnson Fifth Grade Ms. Counts’s Class
Summer
As the school days end, the bright yellow sun pops out of the sky. The ice cream man is on his way. I can almost taste those frozen pops in my mouth. As I suck on my pop, I get sweaty. The flowers have bloomed and the sky is full of fresh air. I say to myself, “I wish there was a pool that I could jump in right now.” The sun is beaming on my head. I think to myself, “It’s hot enough to cook turkey and eggs.” I sweat so hard and so much that I feel like I’m going to pass out. Everything that I touch is hot like a skillet on the stove. As I’m on my way to the park, I see a dog with its mouth open. I bet it is hotter than me, with all of that fur on its back. When I get to the park, I get on the swings. Now I don’t feel like I’m in the desert of dryness anymore…just cool fresh breeze.
