The estimation station is set up each week for different
grades.
The students try to solve the math problem using their estimating
skills
to determine the correct answer to the weekly problem.

The estimation station was set up for 4th graders, with 814 blue beads.

from Mrs. Frame’s homeroom.
3rd place- with an estimate of 846, only 32 away, Quantea from

The estimation station was set up for 3rd graders with 527 blue beads.
1st place- with an estimate of 510, 17 away, Anthony from Mrs. Burden’s homeroom.
2nd place- with an estimate of 508, only 19 away, Deep from Mrs. Bishop’s homeroom.
3rd place- with an estimate of 550, only 23 away, Noelia from Mrs. White’s homeroom.
Honorable mention, with an estimate of 555, 28 away, was Brian from Mrs. White’s homeroom.
The estimation station was set up for second graders with 82 balls.
1st place winner: with an exact estimate of 82, Kylie from Mrs. Penfield’s class.
2nd place: Haley, from Ms. Thomas’ class; Trever and Lilly from Mrs. Penfield’s class; and Isaiah from Ms. Martin’s class, all with an estimate of 85, just 3 away.
3rd place: Owen and McKennzie from Mrs. Penfield’s class, with estimates of 78 and 86, both just 4 away.
Honorable Mention: Akemi from Mrs. Penfield’s class.
The estimation station was set up for fourth graders, with 91 plastic frogs.
1st place winners: Isaiah from Mrs. Frame’s homeroom with an estimate of 90 and Dalton from Mrs. Schultz’ homeroom, with an estimate of 92. Both estimates were exactly one frog away from the actual number.
2nd place: Emil from Mrs. Frame’s homeroom with an estimate of 85, just 6 away.
